Introductory Blog

A little bit about me, my name is Natalie Ciejek, I'm 20 years old and a Fashion Merchandising major at Mercyhurst University. I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. I have one younger sister named Audrey, we are 2 and a half years apart. I love to drink tea, my favorite tea to drink is Matcha. I am vegan and have been for almost 3 years now. My favorite color is blue. My car is a bright blue Hyundai Kona and her name is True Blue. I am an introvert, I am very shy, quiet, and observant that is how I would describe myself in the best way possible.

There are many things I am excited about for that trip but I'm most excited about traveling to a different country and leaving the United States for a bit. I have never been out of the country before or traveled internationally so I am excited for this next adventure in my life. I am also looking forwards to visiting the Elephant Cafe where the infamous J.K. Rowling wrote the Harry Potter books. I am also excited about going to the Mary Queen of Scots Castle. During this spring semester, I am taking a fashion elective called "Fashion Evolution" in which we learn about fashion from different periods and parts of the world. Recently we just learned about Mary Queen of Scots and what she wore when she was around.

FSAT Trip: Ireland

  The last destination on our trip was Dublin Ireland, even though we were there for a day & a half it was still pretty cool. We went to St. Patrick's Cathedral which was cool to see. I didn't know they still do masses there I thought it was just only for museum showings. For the English FSAT class, I did my presentation on the Book of Kells. After learning about the Book of Kells. I wanted to check out the exhibit myself. We went to Trinity College in Dublin which is everywhere by the way, it is very spread out amongst the city. Seeing the Book of Kells was my favorite part of the Dublin trip it was the one thing I wanted to do in Dublin. While I was staring at the Book of Kells I kept thinking wow "it's here it's right in front of me the book I presented in class I'm staring at it with my own two eyes."  I'm going to be honest but Dublin Ireland was my least favorite of the trip. FSAT Trip: England

  The second part of our trip was to London, England. this was my most anticipated part and the part of the trip I was looking forward to the most. We took the train to London this time which was nice, we got to see fields of grass while on the train and experience beautiful views. The first location Sarah took us to was Trafalgar Square which is the main part/center of London. Afterward, we were able to split off & do things on our own. My friends & I went to a 100% vegan, plant-based restaurant called Mildred's. They were super friendly, the service was great, and the food was delicious. They had this vegan whipped feta that was out of this world.  The next day we got on the bus and drove to the important parts of London. We drove by Kensington Place. Went to one of the many Prince Albert memorials. The next place we went to was the infamous & iconic Buckingham Palace. Being there didn't feel real.
