Dubliners Post #1

The book full of short stories called Dubliners by James Joyce is a very interesting piece of literate. After reading all the short stories in the book a came to a realization about the meaning behind them all. The short story is like a timeline. The timeline is representing growing up and going through life. The first short story we read "The Sisters is about a young boy and his Aunt who visit two girls who are sisters who watch over the body of the priest who has passed away. It's their brother. The next story is called "An Encounter" This short story is about two boys who skip class to walk around Dublin Ireland for the day. They go on an adventure and are having the time of their lives until they come across a mean old mean man who scares them into wishing they never skip class in the first place. Following " An Encounter" we move on to the next short story called "Araby" This short story is about a young boy who wants to buy a present for a girl whom he has a crush on. The last short story in Dubliners is called "The Dead" This short story is longer than all the other short stories in the book. It's about a middle-aged man who attends a New Year's Eve party with his wife by his side. At the party, Conroy (the middle-aged man) starts feeling insecure about his wife's old sweetheart. All the stories are about different life experiences in order. Experiencing someone you knew passing away, rebellious adolescent years, having a crush on someone, marriage, and insecurities to follow.
